F-51 Mustang Units over Korea (Osprey Frontline Colour 1)
Published in Paperback by Osprey Pub Co (September, 1999)
Author: Warren E. Thompson
Average review score:

An excellent book book on F-51 Mustangs
Warren Thompson has given the air enthusiasts, historians, and Mustang buffs an excellent start in Osprey's "Frontline Color" series. F-51 Mustang Units over Korea contains a great deal of information and carefully selected color photos of all US and UN users of F-51/RF-51s during the Korean War. This book covers a much overlooked area of aviation history dealing with F-51 operations and units in Korea. The facts about Australian, South Korean, and South African units were an extra bonus. This book gives these outstanding pilots, ground crews, and units their due.

Perfect for US Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force, South African Air Force and South Korean Mustang enthusiasts. It is a great book and I recommend it highly. If you want an operational overview of the F-51 Mustangs you wouldn't go wrong with this book - well worth the price and time to read.

F-80 Shooting Star Units over Korea (Osprey Frontline Colour 5)

CHAPTER 5 RF-80s
Warren Thompson is a friend of mine. I contributed information for his books. In Chapter 5 there is mention of my encounter with a MIG15& I jettioned my Tip Tanks to be more maneuverable & my wingman told me that the MIG on my tail flew Into the tanks. This was never confirmed but so what I got back to K-14 (Kimpo)in one piece. Warren got with pilots like me who flew 100 combat missions to be authentic & not full of stories. He is a Historian & an excellent author. His Chapters regarding F-80Cs deals with the pilots flying Fighter Bomber missions. These pilots along with F-84 pilots took the brunt of combat losses. They did not have easy missions. I lost many friends.

F-86 Sabre Fighter-Bomber Units over Korea (Osprey Frontline Colour 2)
Published in Paperback by Osprey Pub Co (March, 2000)
Authors: Warren Thompson and Stackpole
Average review score:

"You Are There", flying the F86 in Korea.
Osprey's author Warren Thompson has woven an excellent collection of candid and "formal" photos with historical information and personal stories to give the reader a real "I was there" experience.

The focus of the book is operational, and with the exception of a cutaway drawing and pertinent specs of an F-84-30, there is little technical data. But if you want to know what it was like to be assigned to a Sabre squadron in Korea, look no further.

There are dozens of photos in sharp, clear, brilliant color, with detailed captions that flesh out the "story line" with additional information, adding to the reader's immersion in the era.

The only criticism I have is that the type face is kinda small and would be easier to read if it was bolder. Big deal! :)

The bottom line is that this is a "must have" for any F-86 nut, and I am looking forward to picking up the other volumes in Osprey's "over Korea" series (F-51, F-84 and B-26)

Face of the Gods: Art and Altars of Africa and the African Americas
Published in Hardcover by Prestel USA (October, 1993)
Author: Robert Farris Thompson
Average review score:

A Stellar Publication of Relgious Art from African Diaspora
This book, the companion piece to the exhibition of the same name, is a blessing. Thompson, professor & head of the department of African Art at Yale, directed this incredible exhibition in 1993 at NYC's Museum of African Art. From Ifa in Nigeria, to Santeria in Puerto Rico, to Obeah in Jamaica, to Vodun in Haiti, he and his companion scholars and curators have contributed in a healing circle across the Middle Passage. Shattering damaging, racist mythologies of these religions, _Face of the Gods_ fosters an understanding for these misunderstood religions while maintaining a respectful distance. Complete with analyses, interviews, and color photographs.

Fallout
Published in Paperback by G.T. Labs (01 October, 2001)
Authors: Jim Ottaviani, Janine Johnston, Steve Lieber, Vince Locke, Bernie Mireault, Jeff Parker, Chris Kemple, Eddy Newell, Robin Thompson, and Various
Average review score:

Fallout is great!
Although Fallout is in a comic book format it is serious history. The portraits are accurate. The events leading up to the bomb are covered in depth.

The account of the government's digraceful treatment of Oppenheimer is chilling, reminding us of how the people at the top here were much like the leaders in the USSR.

Family Math : The Middle School Years, Algebraic Reasoning and Number Sense

Average review score:

This book makes math both fun and challenging!
My family really enjoyed playing the math games and doing the activities in this book. We had to put on our thinking caps and discover different math strategies. My kids loved the art in this book. There was also a lot of useful information on how much math my kids need to get into college.

Fast Lane to Victory: The Story of Jenny Thompson (Anything You Can Do... New Sports Heroes for Girls)
Published in Paperback by Wish Publishing (15 May, 2001)
Authors: Doreen Greenberg, Michael Greenberg, Phil Velikan, Doreen L. Greenberg, and Michael A. Greenberg
Average review score:

How Jenny dealt with the negative peer pressure
Fast Lane To Victory is the third in Wish Publishing's outstanding "Anything You Can Do...New Sports Heroes For Girls" series and the story of swim champion Jenny Thompson. Swimming was what Jenny like best, but when her friends at school started to tease her and call her "tomboy" and "Too Tall Thompson", she felt the pressures placed on a lot of young girls to conform to social norms of what was "proper" for girls. Jenny dealt with the negative peer pressure and became so successful as an athlete that she came to be called the "Fastest Swimmer in the World". Also very highly recommended for school and community library collections are the first two volumes in this superbly presented and inspiring sports oriented series for girls: A Drive To Win: The Story Of Nancy Lieberman (40-8, ...) and Sword Of A Champion: The Story Of Sharon Monplaisir (39-4, ...).

Fear and Loathing In America : Signed Limited Leatherbound Edition
Published in Leather Bound by Simon & Schuster (01 February, 2001)
Authors: Hunter Thompson and Hunter S. Thompson
Average review score:

Bible of Gonzo
This is a special, limited edition of Hunter S. Thompsons' Fear and Loathing in America. To see more reviews of this title, look it up under the regular hardcover edition. What makes this edition so special is the signature, spelled out "H.S. Thompson" on the book itself, rather than on a bookplate. There are a number of instances in the past where the Doctor signed a bookplate "HST", or even a front page, yet even these are extremely uncommon. Collectors may note that full signature Hunter S. Thompson works are very, very rare indeed, and sell for up to $2900.00.

According to a Simon & Schuster rep, there are only 300 of the special signed edition in existence. It is a reddish, leather-bound volume with the knife-and-fist Gonzo trademark imprinted on the front cover. The edges are gilt, making this edition look rather more like a bible then other, more familiar Steadman covers. Obviously designed for the dedicated fan of an American legend, this edition will occupy a prize position on your bookshelf, next to other HST works that you would be wise not to lend out.

a brilliant analysis of Christ in the Lord's feasts
Having recently come to the realization that any one wanting to learn more about messiah needs to have a firm grasp on his repersentation in the feasts of the Lord, this book does a wonderful job of bringing symbolism to light. The author gives historic background, how they relate to Yeshua, how they are related to parts of the tabernacle, and how they are important to the believer. If you truly want to learn more this is the book you need.
